HISTORY

The Healing Rooms opened on Main Street in Lewiston in February of 2004. The team has consisted of members of over twelve local churches. We were open three days a week for over four years and in May of 2008 reorganized and are currently open on Saturday mornings.

We have prayed for thousands of people and seen hundreds of salvations and healings. Our goal has been to provide a safe place for those in need of prayer to experience God’s presence and love. At the same time, we are providing an opportunity for God’s people to be trained and released with the permission and covering of their pastors, to pray for the sick and hurting.

Intercessory prayer has been another focus of our ministry from it’s inception. Prayer teams have been meeting regularly to pray for our community, churches, pastors, families, businesses, government and missions. Our prayer is that God’s Kingdom would come and His will would be done throughout this community and beyond.

We have also joined with other churches and ministries in a Healing of the Land Assignment throughout our region.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. Holy men of God wrote under the guidance, and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We believe the Word of God brings provision for healing. Like a seed, when planted, it will produce the harvest.

We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in the vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood not only for sin but for sicknesses and disease (Isaiah 53:4), in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe there is a filling of the Holy Spirit that is available to every Christian who in faith asks for it.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life and is empowered to do the “greater works” that Jesus said we would.

We believe in the nine gifts of the Spirit and the importance of the fruit of the Spirit which empowers the gifts.

We believe any servant in this ministry must be yielded to the Holy Spirit, seek an increase in the anointing, be open to operate in any gift of the spirit that is necessary, draw daily from the Word and in prayer and continually give God the glory for what He has done.

We believe this is a body ministry whereby the whole church (body of Christ) can come together to get the whole church, city and nation healed.

MEMBER OF IAHR

The International Association of Healing Rooms is an association of 971 Healing Rooms Ministries in 45 nations with a common vision to re-establish healing back into the body of Christ. Our commission is based on Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow those that believe…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

The vision is to see Healing Rooms set in around the world. Our goal is to establish uniformity and accountability in each work by offering, through an association, the tools to properly equip each healing rooms.

Our focus must be on the presence and power of the Holy Spirit to work through us to heal the sick.
